If you buy a set of runes it is possible that you have a blank rune among them.
Some use this piece in their readings as an indicator of Wyrd (destiny or the unknown), or to represent the God Odin.
However, this is not necessary as these things are already represented by the runes Perthro and Ansuz.
If you still choose to cast with a blank rune, the best option is to use it as an indicator of whether the question can be answered or not.
Some times we ask confusing questions. We ask three questions rolled into one, instead of casting once for each.
